Grade 7 History exam practice tests

Free Grade 7 History tests for South African learners, written from real CAPS papers. Every test runs in the browser, needs no sign-up and shows an explanation with each answer, so a child can practise alone and still learn from a wrong choice. There are 21 topics and 562 questions within Social Sciences, and the numbers change each time, which makes these useful for revision as well as a first run. Grade 7 History exam papers and memoranda in PDF are on the way.

Grade 7 history covers some of the heaviest content in the primary school: the transatlantic slave trade, the colonisation of the Cape and the conflict on the eastern frontier. It is not easy work, and it should not be.

The year begins somewhere else, though: at Mapungubwe and Great Zimbabwe. Southern Africa had rich, organised kingdoms trading gold and ivory as far as India and China, centuries before 1652. That fact changes the whole frame in which a child understands the rest of the year.
