Still First Additional Language, but the passages are longer and the structures harder than in Grade 5.

The double negative gets the most attention, because it is the single most common error in the paper. Afrikaans usually needs two nies, and the second one always closes the sentence: Ek gaan nie skool toe nie.

The other trap is word order. After omdat the verb moves to the end of the clause (omdat sy siek wás), but after want it does not (want sy wás siek). Both mean 'because', and the paper tests exactly that difference.
