Grade 4 names and sorts 2D shapes by straight and curved sides, finds lines of symmetry, builds composite shapes, and names 3D objects such as prisms, cubes, cylinders, cones and pyramids. In the Department of Basic Education’s teaching plan, Grade 4 geometry is taught in Term 3. It is tested in the Grade 4 maths Term 3 test and the final Term 4 exam.
