Grade 7 Technology

CAPS topics, what the exam tests, and free practice tests

Technology becomes its own subject in Grade 7. It is built around the design process — investigate, design, make, evaluate and communicate — applied to structures, mechanisms, electrical systems and materials. In Grade 7 the work splits into two parts: Design, structures and mechanisms (Paper 1 work) and Electrical systems, materials and impact (Paper 2 work).
