Grade 5 compares fractions up to twelfths, adds and subtracts fractions with the same denominator and mixed numbers, and finds fractions of whole numbers. In the Department of Basic Education’s teaching plan, Grade 5 fractions are taught in Term 3. It is tested in the Grade 5 maths Term 3 test and the final Term 4 exam.
